1.The Sweet Bacon Salsa-Covered Hot Dogs

This salsa contains a special ingredient that is sweet and adds a lot of flavor to a regular hot dog.

Ingredients:

  • 3 slices of bacon.
  • 1/4 teaspoon of paprika.
  • 1/4 teaspoon of chili powder.
  • 1/4 teaspoon of cayenne pepper.
  • 1 large ripe mango (the type of mango is your choice and chop it into peaces). 
  • 1/4 cup chopped red onion.
  • 1 tablespoon of lime juice.
  • Salt and pepper, the amount that works for you.

  • 4 hot dog buns.
  • 4 hot dogs.

How to prepare:

  1. Cook the bacon slices until crispy. 
  2. Add paprika, chili powder, and cayenne pepper to the bacon.
  3. In a bowl stir together the bacon, the chopped mango, and chopped red onion.
  4. Add lime juice as you like.
  5. Prepare the hot dogs as you would do normally.
  6. Top the hot dogs with the sweet bacon salsa and enjoy it.

Ingredients:

  • 3 tablespoons water
  • 1/4 cup fresh lime juice
  • 1/4 cup distilled white vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 habanero chile, seeds removed
  • 1/3 large red onion, peeled, halved, cut into 1/8-inch-thick slices
  • 2 hot dog buns
  • 2 hot dogs

Directions:

  1. Combine the water, lime juice, vinegar, sugar, salt and habanero chile in a medium saucepan. Bring the mixture to a boil and stir until the sugar is dissolved.
  2. Remove from heat and allow to cool for 5 minutes.
  3. Place the sliced onions in a bowl and pour the lime juice mixture over the onions. Stir together.
  4. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, occasionally stirring the mixture.
  5. Prepare the hot dogs according to package directions.
  6. Place a hot dog in the center of a hot dog bun.
  7. Top the 2 hot dogs with an even amount of the habanero onion mixture.

  • 1/8 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1/8 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper

Directions:

  1. Combine the onion, ketchup, lemon juice, mustard, honey, cayenne pepper, paprika, garam masala, cumin, salt and pepper.
  2. Stir until well combined.
  3. Prepare the hot dogs according to package directions.
  4. Place a hot dog in the center of a hot dog bun.
  5. Top the 4 hot dogs with an even amount of the Indian-spiced relish.
